LOS ANGELES – (December 30, 2016) – Greenland USA today announced it has secured a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) for the first residential tower at Metropolis (www.metropolislosangeles.com) in downtown Los Angeles, allowing the property’s first residents to close on their new homes and begin moving in.
“Today’s milestone is three years in the making for Greenland USA and we couldn’t be more proud of our achievements.” said Gang Hu, CEO of Greenland USA. “I want to acknowledge the considerable efforts of the 1,700 union construction workers who clock in to work on Metropolis every day and the dedicated City staff who inspected and permitted it. Without their support, this achievement would not have been possible.”
Metropolis is Greenland USA’s first acquisition and broke ground in February 2014. It is a 6.3-acre property being built on one of the last substantial parcels of undeveloped land in the area. The first residential tower at Metropolis is 38-stories with 308 luxury units and amenities that redefine the standard for downtown Los Angeles living. Greenland USA has already conducted walk-throughs with initial buyers and will continue to do so over coming weeks. Its first residents are set to move-in in the new year.
Residential Tower 1 is part of Metropolis’ Phase I, which will include a boutique 18-story, 350-room hotel, Hotel Indigo, set to open in Q1 2017. The second phase of Metropolis includes a curated retail experience and Residential Towers 2 and 3. Tower 2 is slated for completion in 2018.
